The National President of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Comrade M. H. Ibrahim, has urged Muslim members of the union to remember SSANU in their prayers as negotiations with the Federal Government enter a critical stage.
Ibrahim made the appeal in a goodwill message to mark the commencement of Ramadan 1447AH, describing the ongoing renegotiations with the Federal Government as “critical and pivotal” for the future of the union and its members.
“At this important moment in the life of our union, I humbly urge our Muslim members to remember SSANU in their prayers. We are presently at a critical and pivotal stage in our renegotiations with the Federal Government,” he said.
He expressed hope that the sacred month would attract divine guidance and wisdom for all parties involved in the talks and lead to the speedy conclusion, signing and full implementation of an agreement in the best interest of members.
The SSANU president congratulated Muslim faithful across the union’s branches on the commencement of Ramadan, describing the month as a period of devotion, sacrifice, reflection and renewed commitment to faith and humanity.
He prayed that members’ sacrifices would be rewarded and their homes filled with peace and abundant blessings.
Ibrahim also extended warm wishes to Christian members as Lent begins simultaneously, noting that the season of prayer, fasting and reflection offers an opportunity for spiritual renewal and sacrifice.
He called on Christian members to equally remember the union in their prayers for a successful and timely resolution of the negotiations.
According to him, the convergence of Ramadan and Lent underscores shared values of faith, sacrifice, unity and hope.
He urged members to remain united and steadfast in mutual respect and solidarity.
“May this season bring peace to our homes, strength to our members, wisdom to our leaders, and progress to our great union,” he said.
