Ramadan: Yobe State Pardons 33 Inmates

The Yobe State Government has pardoned 33 inmates from correctional facilities in the state in the spirit of Ramadan.

Governor Mai Mala Buni approved the pardon following recommendations from the state’s Advisory Council on the Prerogative of Mercy, chaired by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Saleh Samanja.

A statement from the Ministry of Justice revealed that the council visited correctional centers in Potiskum, Nguru, and Gashu’a before compiling a list of 33 inmates for consideration and subsequent release by the governor.
