The Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development has approved uniform selling prices for housing units under its Renewed Hope Estate Programme and opened applications for interested Nigerians, including civil servants, low- and middle-income earners, and private sector workers.
Badamasi Haiba, Director of Press and Public Relations in the ministry, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Abuja.
Mr Haiba said the move was aimed at enhancing affordability, promoting transparency, and ensuring fairness in access to housing opportunities across the federation.
According to him, the housing units comprise one-, two-, and three-bedroom semi-detached bungalows designed to make homeownership more accessible and equitable for Nigerians under the Renewed Hope Housing Programme.
He said the approved uniform selling prices are as follows: one-bedroom semi-detached bungalow — ₦8.5 million; two-bedroom semi-detached bungalow — ₦11.5 million; and three-bedroom semi-detached bungalow — ₦12.5 million.
“The adoption of uniform selling prices aims to promote affordability, transparency, and fairness. It will ensure that Nigerians across all regions have equal opportunities to benefit from the Renewed Hope Housing Programme,” Mr Haiba stated.
He explained that the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa, directed that priority in the allocation of the housing units be given to civil servants at all levels, low- and middle-income earners, and employees in the organised private sector with verifiable sources of income.
The programme, he added, also accommodates Nigerians in the Diaspora who wish to own homes in the country.
Mr Haiba said the ministry had provided multiple flexible payment options to make the houses affordable for applicants. These include outright (full) payment, mortgage, rent-to-own scheme, and installment payment plans.
He announced that the sale of completed housing units across the northern and southern regions would soon commence, adding that applications can be made through the Renewed Hope Housing online portal at http://www.renewedhopehomes.fmhud.gov.ng, or obtained from the ministry’s headquarters and field offices nationwide.
