Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative as the strategic engine through which the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led governments are delivering development and strengthening the party’s growth nationwide.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya stated this while receiving the North-East Zonal Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative and former Bauchi State Governor, Malam Isa Yuguda, during a courtesy visit to the Government House, Gombe.
The governor said the Tinubu-led APC administration remains focused on improving the lives and livelihoods of Nigerians, noting that the vision of his administration aligns fully with the mission of the Federal Government and the core principles of the APC.
“As Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum, the majority of us are APC governors, just as the Federal Government is APC. We all emerged under the Renewed Hope mantra, which truly encapsulates the ideals and principles upon which our party is built,” he said.
He explained that the Renewed Hope Initiative provides a platform for translating policies into tangible benefits for citizens, adding that the establishment of various committees has strengthened the party’s resolve to ensure continuity in governance at all levels.
Governor Inuwa Yahaya expressed optimism over the growing confidence of Nigerians in the APC, attributing it to performance-driven governance.
“If Nigeria eventually becomes a one-party nation as a result of progress and performance, so be it, provided it delivers development and improved welfare for the Nigerian people,” he said.
The governor urged party members and stakeholders to remain focused and ensure that the Renewed Hope Initiative reaches all parts of the country, assuring the visiting delegation of continued support and cooperation from Gombe State.
Earlier, Malam Isa Yuguda commended Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s leadership, describing him as a symbol of justice, equity and stability in the North-East.
“As Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum and a key leader in the North-East, we look up to him and revere him greatly. He consistently walks the path of justice and equity,” Yuguda said.
He noted that the primary duty of leadership is the protection of lives and property, stressing that peace and security remain a sacred trust. According to him, Gombe State has remained peaceful under Governor Inuwa Yahaya’s leadership, with no major security crises recorded.
Yuguda also outlined plans under the Renewed Hope Initiative to empower about 1,000 persons per ward nationwide, focusing on skills training, small-scale enterprise development and guaranteed market access for beneficiaries.
“This is not about sharing relief items. It is about empowering people with skills and ensuring their products are purchased so they do not operate at a loss,” he said, adding that grassroots empowerment would stimulate economic activity and improve living standards.
The visit was attended by the Gombe State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Initiative, Hon. Aishatu Jibir Dukku, and an associate of the governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Saleh Hassan.
