The Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, has approved the disbursement of N55,968,000 to cover registration fees for 153 Borno State natives enrolled at the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare.
The announcement came during a press conference held at the Scholarship Board’s office, where Mallam Bala Isa, the Executive Secretary, revealed the governor’s commitment to educational development.
According to Baba Isa, the initiative aligns with the Borno State 25-year development plan and ten-year transformation initiatives of the governor.
“In line with the Borno State 25-year development plan and ten-year transformation initiatives, the Borno State Scholarship Board wishes to announce to the good people of Borno State that His Excellency Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum has approved the release of N55,968,000 for the payment of registration fees for 153 Borno State indigenes of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare,” he stated.
The funds are designated for students pursuing various disciplines, including Dentistry, MBBS, Radiography, Nutrition and Dietary, Opticianry, IT and Health Informatics, Environmental Health, Physiotherapy, and Epidemiology and Statistics.
Governor Zulum emphasized the need for the beneficiaries to demonstrate dedication to their studies, urging them to be hardworking in order to validate the government’s investment.
Governor Zulum’s advice was also reiterated by the honorable commissioner of education, science, technology, and innovation, Engineer Lawan Abba Wakilbe, who encouraged the recipients to pay close attention to their studies.
The Executive Secretary concluded the announcement by expressing gratitude on behalf of the Borno State Scholarship Board, acknowledging Governor Zulum’s unwavering commitment to the education of Borno State residents and his continuous support for the board.
