Security Agencies Must Collaborate to Address Security Challenges – Theatre Commander

Major General Waidi Shaibu, the Theatre Commander of the Joint Task Force (JTF) North East (NE) Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), has stressed the importance of sustained collaboration and synergy among security agencies in addressing security challenges in the North East region and other parts of the country.

Speaking during a courtesy visit from Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police Zone 15, AIG Abdu Umar, at the Headquarters Theater Command in Maiduguri on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, General Shaibu highlighted the progress made through joint operations and intelligence sharing. He expressed confidence that continued cooperation would lead to the resolution of security issues.

The Theatre Commander praised the effective working relationship between the military and police, acknowledging the significant contributions of the AIG to the current peace in the region.

AIG Umar commended the TC and military personnel for their support and efforts in combating insurgency and other security challenges, emphasizing the importance of collaboration.

The visit featured an exchange of plaques and a group photograph, attended by the Deputy Theatre Commander, Commissioner of Police Borno State, Component Commanders, and Chief of Staff Theatre Command, among others.
