The Senator representing Borno Central Senatorial District, Kaka Shehu Lawan, has urged newly inaugurated executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Borno to remain loyal and dedicated to the party and its leadership at all levels.
Lawan gave the advice in a statement on Sunday while congratulating the executives who emerged at the party’s ward and local government congresses conducted in preparation for its national convention.
He charged the new officials to work assiduously to strengthen the party’s structures and promote unity within their respective wards and local government areas.
The lawmaker emphasised the need for unwavering commitment to the APC and support for its governments at both the state and federal levels to ensure continued development.
Lawan also commended the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum, for his commitment to the successful conduct of the congresses and the democratisation of local government councils in the state.
He noted that the councils were being administered by young and vibrant chairmen across the 27 local government areas, describing the development as a reflection of purposeful leadership.
According to him, the successful congresses and strengthened local governance underscore ongoing efforts to restore peace and rebuild communities affected by years of insurgency.
The senator prayed for continued peace and prosperity in Borno and called for sustained cooperation among party members and leaders for the progress of the state.
