The Personal Assistant Domestic (Northeast), Office of the Vice President, Comrade Mahmud Muhammad has enjoined women in Borno state to avail themselves and enroll into the Federal Government’s Social Register (SR) to enable them benefits from small or medium enterprises provided under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led -administration.
Mahmud gave the advice while addressing various women groups and associations at the Maiduguri Buy and Sell Trade Fair (MBSTF) which took place at Lake Chad Club, old GRA, Maiduguri on Sunday.
He said, this simple step will not only give a solid foundation for women enterpreneurship, but also unlock access to FG grants and loans tailored for sustainable development.
Comrade Muhammad lamented that the over decade face of adversity brought about by the Boko Haram menace has forced many people in the North East out of business, especially the women folk, thereby greatly affected the means of their livelihood.
He however assured that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Vice, Senator Kashim Shettima are ever determined to address socio economic challenges of all Nigerians through the Renewed Hope Agenda.
His words: ” I extend my gratitude to the government and people of Borno State, for their relentless efforts towards post-insurgency recovery efforts, paving the way for rebuilding and growth, especially to Governor, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum whose unrelenting efforts towards consolidating the efforts hitherto put in place by our Principal former Governor, and now Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima has yielded a positive impact towards the resettling and rehabilitation of our affected communities.
“Mothers, you are the pillars of our communities, and in nurturing your entrepreneurial spirit, one will sow the seeds of a prosperous nation. I, therefore, implore you to encourage your children to dream big, to be creators, and to embark on the path of entrepreneurship.
“In alignment with the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to empowering citizens, especially women, through initiatives like the Renewed Hope Agenda, I encourage you to apply for the social register of the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment. This resource is aimed at assisting small and medium enterprises, providing a pathway to sustainable growth.
“Today, as we gather amidst the echoes of your unwavering determination, I want to express my heartfelt admiration for the spirit that defines each one of you. In the face of adversity brought about by the Boko Haram menace, your strength shines brightly as a beacon of hope.
“To my sisters in business, I urge you to formalize your ventures by registering with the Corporate Affairs Commission. This simple step will not only give your businesses a solid foundation but also unlock access to Federal grants and loans tailored for entrepreneurs like you.
“Moreover, I advise you to explore green/digital skills that require zero capital but offer opportunities for remote work. In line with the government’s impactful interventions, exemplified by projects like FGN-ALAT, 3MTT and iDice, I am hereby, pleased to announce a donation of one million naira on behalf of my principal, and mentor the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, your esteemed son of Kanem Borno empire, to support the organizers and registered vendors present here today.
“As we stand together on this resilient soil, let the promise of a better tomorrow be our guiding light. Your stories inspire us, your dreams fuel us, and together, we shall overcome and thrive.” He stated.
