More than five months after the abduction of Engr. Prof. A.M. El-Jumma along the Damaturu–Biu road, there has been no proof of life or information about his whereabouts.
Prof. El-Jumma, a lecturer at the University of Maiduguri, was kidnapped by suspected bandits while traveling on the highway. Since then, his family and colleagues have continued to wait anxiously for any word from his captors.
As of Sunday, nearly 180 days have passed since the incident, with no communication from the abductors and no official update from security agencies.
The situation has sparked growing concern among members of the academic community and residents of the region, who say there has been little public advocacy for his release despite his standing as a family man, teacher, and community member.
Calls have been renewed for prayers for his safe return, with many appealing to security operatives to intensify efforts to locate him and secure his freedom.
