
The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), University of Maiduguri branch, has praised its members for their steadfast dedication and commitment as Nigeria marks its 65th Independence anniversary.
Comrade Samaila Sadiq, Chairman of the branch, gave the commendation in a statement on Wednesday in Maiduguri.
He noted that the journey of Nigeria’s independence had been marked by challenges, but also by notable progress and transformation.
“As we mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day, we reflect on the resilience and progress of our nation despite its challenges, and acknowledge the steadfast commitment and dedication of our members,” he said.
Sadiq said the University of Maiduguri remained a beacon of knowledge, innovation and hope, with SSANU members playing a critical role in its continuous growth and development.
He described the association’s members as integral to the success of the institution, shaping minds and contributing to national development through education.
“Your hard work, passion and perseverance form the backbone of this academic community. It is through your efforts that we continue to rise above every challenge,” the chairman stated.
He urged members to continue striving for excellence and to remain committed to the growth of the university and the advancement of education in Nigeria.
“Let us renew our commitment to excellence, to overcoming obstacles with resilience, and to contributing our best towards the growth of our nation,” he added.
Sadiq extended the leadership’s gratitude to all members and wished them a peaceful and inspiring Independence Day celebration.
