Stakeholders Unite To Tackle Drug Abuse And Trafficking In Adamawa

The Fresh Air Pro-Life Empowerment Foundation, led by the Wife of the Executive Governor, Hajiya Lami Umaru Fintiri, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Adamawa State Command, has organized a two day stakeholders’ engagement focused on combating drug abuse and trafficking in the state.

As part of the event’s activities, a public awareness walk took place on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. The walk, which stretched from Mubi Roundabout to Ribadu Square, aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, particularly among youths and children.

The event saw the presence of Her Excellency, Hajiya Lami Umaru Fintiri, Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Neido Geoffrey Kofulto, Hon.Kate Mamuno, Member representing Demsa, representatives from the NDLEA, and staff of the ministry among others.

The engagement serves as a call to action for communities and stakeholders to join forces in addressing the rising concerns of drug related issues across Adamawa State, with a special focus on protecting the younger generation from the harmful effects of drug misuse.
