Tragedy struck on Wednesday when suspected Boko Haram insurgents ambushed a vehicle on the Biu-Damaturu Road in Yobe State, killing three passengers. The victims, all Christians, were abducted by the assailants before being brutally murdered.
According to a relative of one of the victims, the incident occurred near Kamuya, a community on the Yobe-Borno border.
The attackers stopped the vehicle, selectively abducted four Christian passengers, and later killed three of them. The whereabouts of the fourth victim remain unknown.
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Yobe State has condemned the incident, urging the government and security agencies to intensify efforts against the insurgents.
Reverend Ibrahim Abako, CAN Secretary in the state, called for proactive measures to protect citizens regardless of their religious background.
