The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has issued a stern ultimatum to the federal government, warning of an indefinite strike if the long-standing issue of withheld salaries remains unresolved.

SSANU Threatens Varsity Shutdown Over Unpaid Salaries

The House of Representatives is set to halt the planned strike by the Non-Academic Staff of Universities with a move to intervene in the dispute between the Federal Government and staff of the universities.

The unions promised to continue “meaningful engagement with the relevant Government Agencies in both Executive and Legislative Arms” and notify members of the next line of action(s) to be taken.

The Federal Government is appealing to the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) to call off their seven-day warning strike
