Taraba Assembly Member Resigns, Appointed Commissioner for Tertiary Institutions

A member of the Taraba House of Assembly representing Karim-Lamido constituency has resigned his position to assume duty as Commissioner for the Ministry of Tertiary Institutions.

The lawmaker’s resignation follows his appointment by Gov. Agbu Kefas, which was announced on April 15 by the Secretary to the State Government, Bar. Gebon Kataps.

Speaking after the announcement, the former legislator said he was ready to serve the state in his new capacity and pledged loyalty to the governor.

“Gov. Kefas is my political leader. I am prepared to follow his instructions in the interest of the state,” he said.

The House is expected to declare the Karim-Lamido seat vacant in line with legislative procedures.

The appointment is part of the administration’s effort to strengthen the tertiary education sector in the state.
