
The Taraba State House of Assembly has passed into law a bill seeking to establish the Taraba State University of Tropical Agriculture, Science and Technology and Climate Action.
The bill, which scaled through its third reading during plenary on Wednesday, received unanimous support from lawmakers.
The proposed university is to be sited on the Mambila Plateau, in Sardauna Local Government Area of the state.
Lawmakers described the development as a major milestone aimed at boosting agricultural research, technological innovation, and climate action, not only within Taraba State but across Nigeria and the West African sub-region.
The bill is expected to be transmitted to Governor Agbu Kefas for assent.
