The Taraba State College of Nursing and Midwifery has been selected as one of the tertiary institutions set to benefit from the federal government’s broadband infrastructure initiative. Mrs. Esther Gana, the Provost of the College, announced that this decision aims to provide both staff and students with improved access to internet facilities.
During the institution’s combined convocation event on Thursday, Esther highlighted that the full accreditation by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria prompted the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy to extend this support to the college.
“The institution is among the chosen tertiary institutions to receive broadband infrastructure from the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy, enhancing internet access for staff and students,” she stated.
In a related development, Governor Agbu Kefas, represented by his Deputy, Aminu Alkali, reiterated the administration’s dedication to healthcare services, expressing his vision for the College of Nursing and Midwifery Jalingo to excel not just in Nigeria but across Africa.
The convocation ceremony saw a total of 2,452 students graduate, including 1,801 in post-basic and basic nursing, 438 in post-basic and basic midwifery, and 108 in community nursing, alongside 105 in community midwifery programs.
