Taraba Command Announces National Police Day Celebration

The Taraba State Police Command has announced plans to celebrate the inaugural National Police Day on April 7.

The Commissioner of Police, Bretet Emmanuel Simon, made the announcement in a statement issued to journalists in Jalingo on Wednesday.

Simon said the celebration was in line with a presidential directive aimed at recognising the dedication and sacrifices of police officers across the country.

He said the command had lined up several activities to mark the celebration, including a town hall meeting with stakeholders, sanitation and cleanup exercise, free medical outreach and school outreach on social vices.

Others are a walkathon for strength and community partnership, among others.

Simon said the celebration was aimed at fostering stronger ties between law enforcement and the public, promoting trust and cooperation.

He said the command encouraged active public participation in the planned activities, reinforcing the shared responsibility of creating a safer society.
