Taraba Gov Warns Pilgrims Against Contraband, Urges Compliance With Saudi Rules

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has cautioned intending Muslim pilgrims for this year’s Hajj against carrying contraband items to Saudi Arabia.

He issued the warning during a farewell address at the Model Primary School temporary Hajj camp in Jalingo on Sunday.

Represented by his Special Adviser on Islamic Religious Matters, Malam Hussaini Isma’il, the governor urged pilgrims to adhere strictly to Saudi Arabia’s rules and regulations and perform their religious duties as prescribed by Allah.

He assured them of necessary arrangements for their comfort, including medical facilities, and announced a dedicated delegation led by Lamdo Gashaka, HRH Dr Zubairu Hamman Gabdo, to ensure their welfare.

Despite limited financial resources, the government is sponsoring 117 individuals to perform this year’s Hajj, highlighting the importance the state government places on religion.
