Taraba Government Begins Verification, Assures Unpaid Workers of Prompt Payment

The Taraba State Government has appealed for calm among civil servants who are yet to receive their May 2025 salaries, assuring that all verified claims will be addressed without further delay.

In a statement issued on Sunday by the Head of Civil Service, Dr. Hamidu Ahmed Kara, the state government expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the delayed payment, underpayment, or misplacement of salaries.

“We sincerely regret the inconveniences caused to civil servants who have not received their salaries for the month of May 2025,” Kara said.

He urged affected workers to immediately report to their respective Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), while instructing Permanent Secretaries, Secretaries, and Staff Officers to compile and submit the list of all affected staff on or before Thursday, June 12, to the Committee Chairman for verification and clearance.

“Please be assured that all those cleared shall be paid immediately,” the statement added.

Kara further disclosed that the committee set up to resolve the issue will work closely with the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Office of the Head of Service to design a mechanism for accessing workers outside Jalingo, to ease financial stress and ensure prompt payment.

The government appreciated the patience and understanding of civil servants and reaffirmed its commitment to their welfare.
