Taraba Governor Awards Scholarships to Young Science Champions

Gov. Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has awarded full scholarships to three students who emerged winners at the National Junior Engineers, Technicians, and Scientists (JETS) Grand Finale Competition.

The governor announced the scholarships on Monday when he received the students at the TY Danjuma House, Jalingo.

Kefas congratulated the students for making Taraba proud, saying the state would sponsor their university education in any institution of their choice within Nigeria.

He, however, explained that although the beneficiaries were still too young to study abroad, they would be given the opportunity to pursue postgraduate studies overseas if they continued to excel academically.

The governor urged the students to remain focused and work hard to perform well in their WAEC and JAMB examinations to qualify for university admission.

Kefas commended the teachers and the Ministry of Science and Technology for their commitment to promoting quality education and nurturing young talent across the state.

He expressed joy that all three scholarship recipients were indigenes of Taraba, describing their success as a source of pride and motivation for other young learners.

In his remarks, the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Hon. Muslim Aruwa, commended the governor for extending the scholarship to all three top winners instead of just the overall champion.

He urged residents to continue supporting the administration’s free education policy, which he said is transforming the educational landscape of Taraba State.

At the event, the Principal of Deeper Life High School, Jalingo, Mr. Richard David, presented an award of recognition to Gov. Kefas for his contributions to educational development.

David described the governor as a visionary leader whose policies are reshaping education and inspiring excellence among young people.

The scholarship beneficiaries are:

Eleazar Victor of Deeper Life High School, Jalingo – First Position

Victory Danjuma of Value Child High School, Ussa – Second Position

Favour Elijah of Government Secondary School, Bali – Third Position
