December 14, 2025 – Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has officially registered as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), receiving his party membership card in a ceremony held at the Government House, Jalingo, on Sunday.
The registration was attended by key political figures, including the Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. John Kizito Bonzena, former Speaker Rt. Hon. Abel Peter Diah, and Hon. Danladi Baido.
Governor Kefas, speaking after receiving his APC card, emphasized that his move was motivated by the interest of governance and the need to strengthen party unity within the state. He stated that while a larger defection ceremony, initially scheduled for November but postponed due to national security concerns, will be announced in due course, the registration enables him to actively engage in APC activities.
“This registration marks a new chapter for effective collaboration within the party and the state’s governance,” Governor Kefas said.
The governor’s registration is seen as a strategic step in consolidating political alliances ahead of future electoral activities in Taraba State.
