Taraba Governor Reaffirms Commitment to Security Collaboration with Nigerian Army

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has reassured the Nigerian Army (NA) of his administration’s continued collaboration in addressing security challenges in the state.

The governor made the pledge on Monday during a courtesy visit to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja.

Kefas, who was accompanied by legislators from the National Assembly and the Taraba State House of Assembly, commended the Army, particularly the 6 Brigade in Jalingo, for their sacrifices and dedication to securing the state.

He assured the military of the state government’s sustained support in enabling troops to effectively discharge their duties.

In his remarks, the COAS appreciated the Taraba State Government and its people for their continued support of the Army’s operations.

He reiterated the Army’s commitment to combating terrorism, insurgency, and other security threats to ensure peace and stability in the state and across the nation.

“We recognize the importance of security in fostering development, and I assure you that we are resolute in our mission to stamp out crime and maintain peace, not only in Taraba but in the country as a whole,” Oluyede said.

The visit, attended by key government officials and Principal Staff Officers of Army Headquarters, underscored a shared commitment to improving security and fostering economic growth in Taraba State.
