Seven months have passed since Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State promised National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members a N245,000 welfare package, but the payment remains outstanding.
The package, announced through the Commissioner for Information and Re-orientation, included N50,000 for medical allowance, N75,000 for housing allowance, and N120,000 as stipend.
According to the state Commissioner of Information, Barrister Zainab Usman Jalingo, all eligible corps members whose names were submitted have received payment, except for those who had passed out at the time of the promise.
The commissioner assured that plans are underway to pay the remaining corps members, advising those who haven’t received payment to report to the NYSC coordinator to be captured.
