As part of his efforts to ensure the sustainability of his free education program, The Governor of Taraba State, Dr Agbu Kefas has concluded arrangements with the ministry of education, Digital Innovation and a consulting firm to deploy Tarabas first student enrollment system.
The system will be used in biometric capturing of students across the state to enable government ascertain a near accurate figure that will be used in planning and allocation of resources within the education sub sector.
Also, teachers across the state will be captured via same medium, their qualifications and to ascertain the ratio of students to teacher, this will determine whether or not there is need to employ more teachers and which school needs them most.
Other benefits include a e-learning system that allows students learn on-line and for teachers to compare notes with counterpart across the state.
Students from JSS three to SS three will be issued with iPads and other accessories to enables them effectively key into this policy.
Furthermore, it will introduce Taraba first call in system where the students and indeed the public can call and have their voices heard on pertinent issues and or emergencies
When successfully implemented, Taraba State will be one among only three states of the federation that has fully complied to the E-Education initiative.
