Gov. Agbu Kefas of Taraba has reiterated his administration’s commitment to transforming the agricultural sector to drive industrial development and ensure food security in the state.

Kefas stated this on Friday in Jalingo while receiving a report from the Taraba Agriculture and Food Sustainability Committee, led by the Emir of Muri, Alhaji Abbas Njidda Tafida.

He commended the committee for developing a strategic roadmap aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity and pledged full implementation of its recommendations.

“Our administration is focused on restructuring the agricultural sector to drive industrial development and ensure food security.

“I reconfirm my commitment to strengthening farmers’ capacities and promoting mechanized farming, as illustrated by our efforts in tractor procurement and other agricultural checklists,” he said.

The governor assured farmers of continuous government support, adding that mechanized farming and modern agricultural practices would be prioritized to boost food production in the state.

He called on relevant stakeholders to collaborate in ensuring the successful implementation of the roadmap for sustainable agricultural growth.
