The Taraba State Government on Wednesday held the Passing Out Parade for a new batch of Taraba Marshall Security Guards as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security and improve the safety of lives and property across the state.
The ceremony took place at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Jalingo.
In his address, Governor Agbu Kefas reaffirmed that security remained central to the state’s development agenda and a key factor in attracting investors. He said the Taraba Marshall Security Guard had become an integral component of the state’s revamped security architecture.
Kefas charged the newly trained guards to protect communities, secure farmlands, support the Police and the Military, and serve as frontline intelligence officers within their various wards.
He noted that the responsibilities of the guards demanded courage, discipline and a deep sense of commitment. The governor warned that fear, compromise and misconduct would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
The Passing Out Parade marks another step in the state government’s drive to build a safer and more stable environment for citizens and investors.
