Taraba Officials Visit GOGIS for Study Tour

A delegation from the Taraba Geographic Information Service (TAGIS) has paid a working visit to the Gombe Geographic Information System (GOGIS) to study its operations with a view to replicating them in Taraba State.

The delegation was led by the Director-General of TAGIS and the Taraba State Surveyor General. It was commissioned by Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State.

During the visit on Tuesday the team commended Gombe for its achievements in digital land administration, urban planning, and land management, describing the state as a model worth emulating.

“Gombe has emerged as a landmark model in modern digital land administration and management. It is a success story that others can learn from,” the delegation said.

The visit is part of Taraba’s efforts to improve its land administration system and enhance urban development through technology and efficient policy implementation.

Two years ago, GOGIS also hosted a delegation from Kano State with a similar objective of understudying Gombe’s reforms.

Recently, the Jigawa State Government, led by Governor Umar Namadi, also visited Gombe on a retreat aimed at sharing ideas and learning from the state’s successful policies and reforms.

Gombe State’s land administration reforms, digital systems, and urban development strategies continue to attract attention from across the country.
