The Commissioner of Police, CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin, gave the assurance in a statement issued by the Acting Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ishaku Victor Mshelizah, on Wednesday in Jalingo.
According to the statement, the Command has put in place comprehensive security measures to ensure a peaceful, secure, and hitch-free election across all polling units and communities in the state.
“The Taraba State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Betty Enekpen Isokpan Otimenyin, is fully committed to ensuring a peaceful, secure, and hitch-free Local Government Election scheduled for November 8th, 2025,” the statement said.
It added that all officers had been directed to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, vigilance, and neutrality throughout the electoral process.
The Command urged citizens to go out and exercise their civic rights without fear, assuring that the police were adequately prepared to prevent and respond swiftly to any security threats.
“To achieve this, the CP calls on all residents to remain law-abiding, cooperate with security personnel, and adhere strictly to electoral guidelines,” it stated.
The Command also appealed to members of the public to report any suspicious movements or activities to the nearest police station, emphasizing the importance of community support in maintaining peace and security.
Issuing a stern warning to criminal elements, the statement said the police would deploy intelligence-driven operations to identify and neutralize any threats before, during, and after the polls.
“Perpetrators will face the full wrath of the law, with no room for compromise. We are watching, and justice will be swift,” the CP warned.
The Command reiterated its commitment to safeguarding democracy and ensuring that the forthcoming elections serve as a model of peace and unity for the state.
