The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has successfully delivered a 300MVA power transformer to the Gombe 330/132kV Transmission Substation.
The new transformer, which was received on Monday, is expected to increase the substation’s capacity by 240MW of bulk electricity, thereby improving power supply reliability to several states in the northeast, including Bauchi, Borno, Taraba, Yobe, and Adamawa, as well as Gombe and its environs.
According to TCN officials, the installation of the new transformer is part of the company’s ongoing expansion drive to strengthen the national grid and provide more efficient transmission services to electricity distribution companies.
The TCN has assured that the installation of the new transformer will be completed in the shortest possible time, and that power transmission services will be restored to normal as soon as possible.
