TCN Restores Power Supply to Maiduguri After Vandalism Repairs

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has successfully restored bulk power supply to Maiduguri and surrounding areas through the Damaturu-Maiduguri 330kV transmission line.

The line was energized on Wednesday, August 30, 2024, at 2:43 pm, following the rehabilitation of two vandalized towers (T193 and T194) on June 11, 2024.

The vandalism had caused a power outage in Maiduguri, tripping a 150MVA power transformer at the Molai Substation.

With the repairs completed, TCN has resumed bulk power supply to the region and is focused on maintaining a stable and reliable transmission grid.
