
A teenage boy identified as Sani was on Tuesday reportedly stabbed to death in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State.
Eyewitnesses said the incident occurred near Danji Hotel along Wukari Junction when a disagreement broke out between the deceased, known for hawking cigarettes in the area, and a man alleged to have bought from him but refused to pay.
According to accounts, the suspect, said to be of Fulani extraction, allegedly stabbed Sani in the chest with a knife after he demanded payment.
The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival.
Residents who responded to Sani’s cry for help reportedly pursued and apprehended the suspect before handing him over to the police for further investigation.
Police authorities in Takum were yet to issue an official statement on the incident at the time of filing this report.
