Troops of the multinational Joint Task Force sector 4 in Kabalewa, Niger Republic, successfully intercepted a Toyota vehicle traveling southwest from Nigeria.
Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Chief of Military Public Information for MNJTF, revealed that the vehicle, operated by three individuals identified as gun runners, was found to contain a concealed compartment housing a cache of arms.
The discovered arms cache included seven rocket-propelled guns, one AK-47 rifle with a magazine, two Nigerian license plates, and a customs pass originating from the Maine Soroa border.
Lieutenant Colonel Abdullahi stated that initial investigations suggest the arms were linked to the Boko Haram terrorist group, underscoring the ongoing efforts to combat illicit arms trafficking and insurgent activities in the region.
