Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) and Hybrid Forces (HF), have neutralised eight Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists during a fierce encounter in Manawaji, Gamboru Ngala Local Government Area of Borno State.
The operation, which took place at about 5:30 p.m. on June 30, 2025, followed a joint fighting patrol by the security forces in the area, a statement from military sources confirmed on Tuesday.
During the engagement, the troops launched a successful offensive, killing eight terrorists and forcing others to flee the scene. Several weapons and rounds of ammunition were recovered from the neutralised and retreating insurgents.
The statement added that no casualties were recorded among troops, CJTF, or HF personnel during the encounter.
“The general security situation in the area remains calm but fluid as troops continue aggressive patrols and clearance operations to maintain stability,” it noted.
