Troops of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have recorded another major operational success in Borno State, neutralising five terrorists and rescuing abducted civilians during a coordinated offensive in Konduga Local Government Area.
The operation, carried out in the early hours of January 4, 2026, was conducted by troops in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF). The security forces engaged the terrorists at a known crossing point along the Sojiri axis of Konduga.
According to the military, the encounter resulted in the neutralisation of five terrorists without any casualty recorded on the side of the troops, reflecting the professionalism and combat effectiveness of the forces involved.
During the operation, three civilians who had been kidnapped by the terrorists were successfully rescued. Troops also recovered several items, including AK-47 rifles and other sundry materials believed to belong to the fleeing terrorists.
The military described the operation as a demonstration of its sustained commitment to aggressive offensive actions against terrorist elements, while ensuring the safety and protection of civilians. It further highlighted the critical role of collaboration with local security stakeholders, particularly the CJTF, in degrading terrorist networks.
Troops’ morale remains high, as security forces continue to dominate the operational environment across the North East despite evolving security challenges. Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its resolve to dismantle terrorist structures and restore lasting peace and stability in the region.
The update was contained in a statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, Media Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, on January 4, 2026.
