Troops of the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have recorded a significant breakthrough in the ongoing clearance operation codenamed Operation Lafiya Nakowa, neutralizing terrorist hideouts in Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State.

During the operation at Badekoshi, contact was made with suspected terrorists, who fled under intense fire towards Fajul village near the forest.
The troops gave chase, using superior firepower to dislodge the criminals, who eventually abandoned their hideouts and escaped deeper into the forest.
Items recovered during a thorough exploitation of the area include:
One AK-47 rifle
One AK-47 magazine
One round of 7.62mm special ammunition
Five rounds of blank ammunition
Two fragmental jackets
