Troops Overrun Terrorist Hideouts in Sambisa Forest

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai, in collaboration with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), on Thursday overran several terrorist hideouts in the Sambisa Forest during a clearance operation.

The operation, which commenced at 6 a.m. and lasted until 12 p.m., targeted terrorist enclaves in Garin Malam Ali, Garin Glucose, and Ukuba.

Military confirmed that the joint forces conducted an aggressive patrol and clearance mission, forcing the insurgents to flee and abandon their camps.

Recovered from the operation were assorted weapons, ammunition, and equipment used for the manufacturing of improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

“The operation was successful with minimal resistance from the terrorists, who were forced to flee due to the intensity of the troops’ advance,” the source said.

The military confirmed that exploitation and further combing of the forest areas are still ongoing to ensure complete clearance of any remaining threats.

Operation Hadin Kai continues to target remnants of insurgent groups in the North-East, as part of ongoing efforts to restore peace and security in the region.
