Troops Repel ISWAP Attack In Borno

The troops of 25 task force brigade have repelled an attack by the Islamic State of the West African Province (ISWAP) in the North East of Azir in Damboa LGA of Borno state. Zagazola Makama reports.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama, that the
attackers attacked the troops at about 12:35am on Monday, but the attack was swiftly repelled by the troops who engaged them in a heavy gun battle, forcing them to withdraw.

The sources said “They came on motorcycles and began shooting at us. But we engaged them in a heavy gun battle. They later fled back to the forest where they came from,”he said.
