
A Mitsubishi Canter truck carrying gravel lost control and rammed into two shops in Fadaman Rake, Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa, killing two people and injuring nine others.
Eyewitnesses reported that the truck, which was reportedly speeding, suddenly veered off the road, leading to the devastating collision. Local residents and emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to assist the victims, who were later transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
In response to the tragic incident, Right Honorable Speaker Bathiya Wesley donated ₦500,000 to aid in the treatment of the injured victims. Similarly, Rt. Hon. James Shuaibu Barka contributed ₦100,000 to provide relief to those affected by the crash.
Hon. Emmanuel Andrew, the councilor representing Bangshika Ward and a native of Fadaman Rake, confirmed the incident. He described it as a heartbreaking event, adding, “This is a tragedy, and only God can console the bereaved families.” He also expressed gratitude to those who extended their support in various ways.
Authorities have urged motorists to exercise caution while driving to prevent similar accidents. Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
