The Governing Council of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has approved the appointment of Prof. Shettima Umara Bulakarima as an Emeritus Professor.
Bulakarima becomes the second Kanuri scholar to attain the prestigious rank and the first from the Department of Languages and Linguistics (Kanuri Unit), marking a major milestone for both the university and the Kanuri academic community.
The approval, announced by the council, highlights Prof. Bulakarima’s decades of scholarly contributions, research excellence and service to the institution.
