The newly elected executive members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) Chapter, on Thursday, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Laminu Mele.
The visit, which took place at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building, was led by the outgoing chairman, Comrade Dunoma, and included the newly elected chairman, Comrade Samaila Sadiq, Vice Chairman Bukar Zannah Kaumi, Secretary Kaka Zannah Mala, and Assistant Secretary Sani M. Tada. Others in attendance were Woman Leader Amme Galadima, Public Relations Officer Mundi Suleiman Alhaji, and Trustee Abubakar Ahmadu Mohammed.

Speaking during the meeting, Mele congratulated the new executives and urged them to work towards the university’s progress. He emphasized the need for counseling services to support SSANU members and assured them of the management’s commitment to staff welfare.
In his response, Comrade Sadiq expressed appreciation for the university’s role in ensuring a peaceful electoral process. He pledged to collaborate with the administration to address staff concerns and foster a conducive working environment.
The meeting aimed to strengthen relations between SSANU and the university management, with both parties agreeing to work together in the interest of the institution and its workforce.
