Vigilante operatives from Sector 2 of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested seven suspected logistics suppliers for the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Lamisheri, Gujba Local Government Area (LGA) of Yobe State.
The arrest was disclosed in a post by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X on Monday.
According to the report, the suspects were intercepted while attempting to deliver three motorcycles to ISWAP fighters operating within the Timbuktu Triangle, a known insurgent stronghold in the North East.
Security sources told our correspondent that logistics supply chains, including the smuggling of motorcycles, fuel, food, and weapons, have played a critical role in sustaining insurgent activities in the region.
“In many cases, security forces have neutralized or repelled insurgents, only for them to regroup with the help of collaborators who provide fresh supplies and escape routes,” a security source said.
The source added that informants embedded within local communities have been facilitating these operations by providing intelligence to terrorists, aiding their movements, and ensuring they receive critical supplies.
“The arrested suspects are currently in custody for further investigation,” the source said.
The Nigerian military has repeatedly emphasized that disrupting ISWAP’s supply network is crucial to weakening the group’s operational capacity.
