VP Shettima Loses Mother-In-Law, Hajiya Maryam Abubakar Albishir

Vice President Kashim Shettima’s mother-in-law, Hajiya Maryam Abubakar Albishir, has passed away at the age of 69 after a prolonged illness. She will be laid to rest in Kano, in accordance with Islamic traditions.

This is contained in a statement by Stanley Nkwocha, Senior Special Assistant to The President on Media & Communications, (Office of The Vice President), on Monday in Abuja.

Hajiya Maryam was the mother of Vice President Shettima’s wife, Hajiya Nana Shettima, and was known for her kindness, wisdom, and compassion.

The late Hajiya Maryam was known as an exemplary and kind-hearted mother in her community and also a devoted Muslim. She was respected for her wisdom, compassion, and dedication to charitable causes. Many remember her as a source of guidance and support, both within her family and in the wider community in Kano.
