Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state has assured the people of Southern Borno Senatorial District that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will intervene and ensure that the much talked about merger of Nigerian Army University, Biu (NAUB) with Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA), Kaduna as recommended by the Stephen Oronsaye Report did not see the light of the day.
Zulum said, “By God grace, and with President Tinubu by our side, NAUB will continue to remain a conventional University. This is based on the meeting i had with Mr. President last Friday, who asked me to officially write to him on the matter. And I believe he (Tinubu) will act in favour of Southern Borno for NAUB to remain as it is”.
The Governor made this revelation on Saturday when he paid homage to the Emir of Biu, His Royal Highness, Umar Mustapha Aliyu II at his palace in Biu town.
Zulum was in Biu to flag off distribution of food and non -food items as palliatives to 50,000 heads of household drawn from seven local government areas of Chibok, Biu, Shani, Kwaya Kusar, Hawul, Bayo and Askira-Uba.
Zulum before visiting the palace had a brief stop over along Biu- Maiduguri road, where he laid foundation for construction of befitting Dental and 56- bed capacity Eye Hospital in Biu.
