A 17-year-old girl, identified as Iwasen Terhemba, has reportedly been attacked with a razor blade in Donga Local Government Area of Taraba State following allegations linking her to a married man.
According to Taraba Truth and Fact, the teenager, who lives under the care of her guardian, Jemila Savalla Wanga, had repeatedly rebuffed advances from the man, identified as Mr. Abbas, insisting that she was underage and that he was already married.
Sources said Mr. Abbas’ wife, Ramatu Abbas, later became aware of claims that her husband was pursuing the minor and allegedly began hurling insults and issuing threats against the girl. In an attempt to resolve the situation, the guardian reportedly approached Mrs. Abbas to clarify that it was her husband who had been harassing the teenager and urged her to caution him.
However, the situation allegedly escalated when Mrs. Abbas went to the girl’s residence and attacked her with a razor blade, leaving her with serious facial injuries.
It was further alleged that following the assault, the suspect threatened the victim and her guardian, warning them not to report the incident to law enforcement and insisting the matter be handled privately.
The incident has sparked outrage among residents of the area, with many calling on security agencies and child protection authorities to intervene, investigate the matter, and ensure justice for the minor.
