Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) on Monday announced the appointment of Engr. Abdulrahman Ahmad Isa, as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the company.
The appointment of Eng. Abdulrahaman, according to the company, is effective from 1st February, 2024.
A release signed by the Head, Corporate Communications, YEDC, Olugbenga Oladimeji Adebola, said that Eng. Abdulrahaman is a seasoned electrical engineer and business leader with over 20 years of experience in the power sector.
“He has held various positions in the defunct National Electricity Power Authority and Power Holding Company of Nigeria, where he was responsible for designing, operating, and maintaining electrical networks across the country.
“He is also a consultant on turnover strategy for Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, where he helped improve the company’s performance and customer satisfaction,” it stated.
It added that Engr. Abdulrahaman holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Maiduguri and a Master of Engineering degree from Ahmadu Bello University.
It further stated that the new MD/CEO is a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), and a member of the Nigeria Society of Engineers (NSE) and the Nigerian Institute of Power Engineers (NIPE).
Reacting on his appointment, Engr. Abdulrahaman, expressed his enthusiasm and vision for leading YEDC, which serves over 4 million customers in Adamawa, Borno, Taraba, and Yobe states.

I look forward to working with the dedicated and talented staff of the company, as well as our valued customers and stakeholders, to deliver reliable and affordable electricity to our service areas. On its part, the Board of Directors of YEDC congratulated him on his appointment and welcomed him to the company.
The Board also thanked the outgoing MD/CEO, Mr. Dan Ibrahim Shuaib, for his exemplary service and achievements during his tenure.
