The Yobe state government has launched an ethical reorientation campaign, dubbed “Operation Gyaran Hali”, to tackle moral decadence and vice among youths.
Governor Mai Mala Buni, speaking at the launch on Wednesday, expressed concern over the decay of moral values and cultural and religious ethics in the society.
The governor particularly highlighted the alarming rate of drug abuse among youths, calling it a “growing tide” that requires immediate action.
He urged stakeholders, including government officials, traditional rulers, religious leaders, parents, and security agencies, to join forces to combat the menace.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs and Ethical Reorientation has been tasked with holding regular meetings with stakeholders to assess the situation and develop strategies to address the challenges.
