Yobe Govt Awards Contracts for Empowerment Items to Boost Economic Growth

The Yobe State Government has awarded contracts for the supply of motorcycles, tricycles, charcoal stoves, and other empowerment materials to enhance economic growth, support small-scale enterprises, and promote self-reliance across the state.

The contract signing ceremony was held at the Ministry of Wealth Creation, Empowerment, and Employment Generation in Damaturu, with the Honourable Commissioner, Alhaji Aji Yerima Bularafa (Mal Terab of Gujba), presiding.

The initiative is part of the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni’s broader strategy to strengthen livelihoods, reduce poverty, and create employment opportunities, particularly for youth and women in the state’s 17 local government areas.

Speaking at the event, the commissioner commended Governor Buni for his sustained investment in citizen empowerment. He stressed that transparency, accountability, and timely delivery would guide the execution of the contracts.

On behalf of the contractors, the Managing Director of MARWEZ LIMITED expressed appreciation to the state government for the opportunity to contribute to its economic empowerment drive, pledging full compliance with contractual specifications and delivery timelines.
