Yobe Govt Recruits 42 Community Nurses to Strengthen Healthcare

The Yobe State Primary Health Care Board has recruited 42 community nurses to enhance healthcare service delivery across the state.

This was disclosed in a statement by the board’s spokesman, Mr. Adamu Abba, in Damaturu on Saturday.

According to the statement, the board’s Executive Secretary, Babagana Machina, has presented appointment letters to the nurses, who were selected from Set Three of the Shehu Sule College of Nursing and Midwifery, Damaturu.

Abba noted that the recruitment aims to bridge the manpower gap at primary healthcare centers across Yobe’s 17 local government areas.

“The administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni has, since 2019, constructed or renovated 142 primary healthcare centers across the state,” he said.

He recalled that the governor had promised during his electioneering campaign to establish a standard primary healthcare center in each of Yobe’s 178 political wards.

“This recruitment and others to follow will boost manpower at these centers to improve service delivery,” he added.

Machina congratulated the newly recruited nurses and urged them to be dedicated to their duties in serving the people.
