Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum, has continued his commitment to educational advancement by awarding scholarships to 26 lecturers from higher institutions in the state to pursue postgraduate studies in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) in Malaysia.

The recipients received cheques totalling over 305 million Naira during a ceremony held on Monday at the Quality Assurance Office of the Borno State Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation.

The Executive Secretary of the Borno State Scholarship Board, Dr. Bala Isa, commended Governor Zulum for doubling the scholarship allocation for students since his assumption of office.

He urged the recipients to justify the investment by excelling in their studies and contributing positively to society.

Dr. Sadiq Abba Aji, a representative of the Malaysia Scholarship, pledged on behalf of the beneficiaries to excel in their STEM studies and make Borno proud.

The recipients expressed their optimism in making a meaningful impact on their communities, reflecting the state government’s dedication to improving the education system in Borno.
