Gov. Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno has felicitated Vice President Kashim Shettima on the occasion of his 59th birthday, describing him as a mentor and exemplary leader.
In a statement on Tuesday in Maiduguri, Zulum said the Vice President’s leadership qualities, vision, integrity, and commitment to service had inspired a generation of leaders across Borno, the Northeast, and the country at large.
“Your mentorship has shaped countless leaders. Your humility remains a hallmark of great stewardship, reminding us that true leadership serves with grace and patience,” Zulum said.
He noted that Shettima’s intellectual capacity had consistently informed sound policy and strategic decisions that contributed positively to Nigeria’s national discourse.
Zulum recalled Shettima’s trajectory in public service, from his early days as a commissioner in Borno State, through his two-term tenure as governor and chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, to his role as senator, and now as Vice President.
“On behalf of myself, the government and people of Borno, I extend heartfelt birthday felicitations to His Excellency, Vice President Kashim Shettima. We are proud of your accomplishments and steadfast dedication to national unity and progress,” Zulum added.
He prayed for continued good health, wisdom, and many more years of service to the country for the Vice President.
